NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.
During enrolment, you can choose a special religious education option for your child from the school’s available approved providers. You can withdraw your child from special religious education by selecting alternative meaningful activities, or special education in ethics if it’s available.
You can update your preference by writing to the school or through the online form available at participating schools.

On enrolment parents/carers will be given the participation letter to complete and return. After the initial enrolment, notification of changes to a child's enrolment in SRE should be given in writing to the office.
Combined Christian SRE is offered at Bonnells Bay Public School.
Combined Christian SRE is delivered by the Southlakes Christian Education www.southlakescripture.net.au, who are authorised to deliver combined Christian SRE by the following approved providers:
Baptist Union of NSW
Fellowship of Congregational Churches
Australian Christian Churches
Seventh-day Adventist Church North NSW Conference (Elermore Vale)
They deliver the GodSpace curriculum, authorised by the Baptist Union of NSW, which can be found at: www.godspace.org.au/curriculum
SRE classes are held weekly for K-6. Students not attending SRE are given alternate meaningful activities such as reading and homework.
